Urquharts Private Client Team Bolstered

Established Edinburgh solicitor firm, Urquharts is strengthening its Private Client offering with the addition of two new members to the team. Sara Smith and Neil McNab  joined Urquharts from Shoosmiths with effect from 1 January 2018.

Sara joins Urquharts as a Partner and brings with her a client following from Shoosmiths.  Sara began working at Archibald Campbell & Harley as a Trainee in 2006 prior to its merger with Shoosmiths and has steadily progressed through the ranks during her 11-year tenure with the firm moving from Qualified Assistant to Associate to Senior Associate in the Wealth Protection department.  Sara is also a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.  Sara advises Private Clients on a variety of subjects including Wills, inheritance tax planning, Powers of Attorney, estate administration and the setting up of Trusts.

Neil joins the firm as a Private Client Manager. He has over 25 years’ experience in the sector and his specialist areas of expertise include tax planning and Trust and estate administration.

Commenting on the new appointments, Roderick Urquhart, Senior Partner at Urquharts said: “The arrival of Sara and Neil to the team provides a great start to 2018.  It is also very pleasing to welcome Sara back to the firm, as she worked with us at the very beginning of her career before starting her Traineeship at Archibald Campbell & Harley. Their addition enhances our ability to deliver a first-class legal service to our many Private Clients. At a time when there are fewer smaller law firms remaining in the City Centre, we see that as a positive advantage for us. Our Clients welcome our size and the high level of personal care we do provide.”
